DATA PROTECTION POLICY (GDPR)


  1. INTRODUCTION
    This document has been prepared in accordance with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and states how your personal data is stored and used by the Seven Sisters Camera Club

    2.PERSONAL DATA HELD BY THE SOCIETY
    The personal data information held by the Society will be your contact details e.g. name, address, email address, telephone numbers. The Society may also hold a record of internal and external competitions that you have entered, together with the results and awards given. It may also hold photographic image files entered in such competitions and posted on the SSCC website.

    ​3. STORAGE OF PERSONAL DATA
    Your personal data may be held electronically or as printed documents by the designated GDPR Joint Controllers, namely Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Webmaster, Digital Secretary, Print Secretary, and they will only use your personal data for the purpose of discharging their duties as required by the Society. They will use generally accepted standards of security and technology in order to protect personal data. You have the right to require that your personal data held by SSCC be deleted or destroyed by giving your instruction in writing to the SSCC Secretary.

    4. COMMUNICATION WITH MEMBERS
    The GDPR Joint Controllers may communicate with Members through their recorded contact details, as permitted by Article 6 (1) of the GDPR.
    Emails sent to members will not disclose the email address of any other person. The distribution of group emails will, therefore, employ the Bcc (blind copy) category.

    5. CONSENT TO RECEIVE MARKETING INFORMATION
    It is not permitted under the GDPR to send members third party marketing information without their consent and members’ personal data will not be disclosed to any third party. SSCC may from time to time circulate, at their discretion, relevant details concerning events, meetings and exhibitions from other photographic organisations, clubs and societies.

    6. LINKS TO EXTERNAL WEBSITES
    Our website contains links to external websites and upon following any links to external sites you will be leaving our data policy terms and conditions and we cannot be held responsible for the policies, content or use of any external sites which will then apply.

    7. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP INFORMATION?
    We will hold personal data on our system for as long as the member continues to renew their subscription. We continually review the information we hold and delete what is no longer required, but we will retain some data in an archived form in order to support queries and enable us to comply with any legal obligations.
